"Attending John McCrady's Art School in the French Quarter introduced me to a modified version of the traditional underpainting of Rembrandt. It was through McCrady's influence that I began my lifelong fascination with New Orleans architectural history and European painting. McCrady recognized an expressionist spirit emerging in my work early on, which has only gotten stronger since. Later, other forms from the Paris movement of the 1920s and 30s influenced my work."
